One of the most important decisions a new real estate agent makes is who they learn the business from.
Real estate is not a business that can be learned through theory alone. It is learned through real conversations, real contracts, and real transactions.
The first few deals you complete will shape how you understand this business for the rest of your career.
That’s why the mentorship program at WSW Realty is built around hands-on experience, guided by experienced agents who are actively working in the business.
New agents work with a mentor through their first five sales. These can be buyer transactions or listings, but the goal is the same — to learn how to properly navigate a real estate transaction from start to finish.
During this time, mentors guide agents through contracts, negotiations, client communication, and the full transaction process.
Leases are not required to graduate from the program. However, if an agent chooses to work with leases, they must complete at least three lease transactions under the guidance of a mentor.
Most real estate brokerages structure mentorship the same way. A new agent is placed on a higher split, often around forty percent, and that split is divided between the brokerage and the mentor.
In many cases, the brokerage keeps a large portion of that split, even though the mentor is the one doing the majority of the work.
At WSW Realty, the structure is different.
The mentor receives thirty-five percent of the transaction, while the brokerage receives only five percent.
This ensures that the person responsible for guiding the agent, reviewing contracts, and supporting the transaction is properly compensated.
It also allows us to attract experienced agents who take mentorship seriously and are committed to developing new agents the right way.
Mentorship is not just about getting through a few transactions. It is about building the habits, systems, and structure that allow an agent to produce consistently over time.
That includes understanding how to track conversations, follow up with clients, manage a pipeline, and operate with professional systems.
Because in real estate, success is not built on luck — it is built on structure.
And that structure is what the mentorship program is designed to teach.
